The Current Situation and its Agenda
Tsukuba and its neighboring areas have now developed to one of the world’s foremost science and technology cities.
- Tsukuba is home to 32 research institutes, accounting for one-third of the nation’s organizations
- more than 20,000 public and private researchers gather
- There are world-class research facilities available
- More than 7,000 people from foreign countries
However, we are yet subjected to scarce achievements in international acknowledgement and researches hardly developed into actual business/industry for our current structure is valued on fundamental studies.
We take on this chance as the System of International Strategic Zone to bring Tsukuba’s academic achievements applicable to real-life, along with building new industry-academy-government cooperative integral unit where every research institutions and local-governmental body are aligned.
