Nanotechnology is a common basic technology in the elds of manufacturing and medicine, medical care and life sciences. TIA-nano (Tsukuba Innovation Arena for Nanotechnology) is a global open innovation hub set up by integrally utilizing the world-class nanotechnology research resources that have been accumulated in the Tsukuba area. Led by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), University of Tsukuba and High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) with a support of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) and related ministries and agencies, TIA-nano aims to enhance the competitiveness of Japanese industries and to create new industries for the next generation.
